Manager reports on EV-charging grants, street-lighting delay; council hears Main Street outreach

Municipal manager Jeff told the council Jan. 6 that the village is exploring electric vehicle charging stations and has contacted the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission about grants and resources to help cover installation costs.
On street lighting in the Stillwater Crossings neighborhood, Jeff said the lights are installed but not yet functioning because AES has not installed the required meter; Miami Valley Lighting has completed its work and the manager reported he expects the meter to be installed by the end of the week so the system can be energized. “They'll try to have the meter installed by the end of the week,” Jeff said.
During old-business discussion, a council member said she has been working with Heritage Ohio and applied for a grant to fund an assessment and a first-year membership to help establish a Main Street program for downtown redevelopment and historic-preservation work. She said Project Revival volunteers have been active and that the Heritage Ohio effort would be a further step to support downtown events, preservation and redevelopment.
Council also discussed timelines for the comprehensive land-use plan review, zoning-code updates and follow-up on sidewalk grant applications; staff said some timelines depend on consultant responses and that sidewalk work is planned for later in spring.
