The mayor announced the appointment of Levi Todd to fill a vacant seat on the West Milton village council and administered the oath of office at the Jan. 6, 2026 meeting.
The mayor said the vacancy had been posted longer than 40 days under section 4.07 and that reappointing Todd would preserve continuity because he “has the most up-to-date knowledge of our current projects” and had shown voter support in November. “It pleases me greatly to name Levi Todd as my appointee to fill a current vacancy on village council,” the mayor said before administering the oath.
Levi Todd then repeated the oath to support the constitutions of the United States and the State of Ohio and to discharge the duties of council member for the municipality of West Milton. Council members applauded after the swearing-in.
Separately, the council voted on leadership for the council chairperson but recorded tied results on two nominations and determined the chair selection would be revisited after the remaining vacant seat is filled. The council then moved into routine business and considered ordinances and emergency resolutions.
The council later voted to enter executive session to consider appointment of a public official and property purchase, pausing the public meeting.
