St. Ann board adopts three ordinances for chipper purchase, Right Avenue reconstruction and City Hall renovations

The St. Ann Board of Aldermen approved three separate ordinances at its Oct. 7 meeting, authorizing the city to buy a Bandit tree chipper, enter reconstruction agreements for Right Avenue and contract for City Hall and police department renovations.
Board members voted to adopt Bill No. 3464, which authorizes the city administrator to purchase a Bandit chipper intended to help the street and parks departments with tree removal and limb disposal. A board member noted the machine is standard equipment for tree work; the motion passed and the bill became Ordinance No. 3370.
The board also approved Bill No. 3465 to enter into agreements with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and engineering firm Howard R. Green for the first phase of Right Avenue reconstruction, beginning at St. Charles Rock Road and extending about halfway down the corridor. Speakers said the project is being advanced with federal funding and that entering the agreement will allow engineering work to begin; the bill became Ordinance No. 3371.
Finally, the council approved Bill No. 3466 to contract with Dugan Construction and Sessions Fixtures for interior improvements at City Hall, including police locker room showers, flooring and kitchen/breakroom furnishings. The measure became Ordinance No. 3372.
Each ordinance was read for first and second readings during the meeting and adopted by recorded vote. The agreements for Right Avenue were described as the start of a multi-phase reconstruction; board members said federal and state grant rules determine which streets qualify for outside funding. The vote concludes the formal authorization steps so staff can begin procurement and engineering work.
Next steps include procurement for the chipper, initiation of engineering contracts and scheduling construction work; timing for physical work on Right Avenue and the City Hall renovations will depend on contractor availability and grant-administering agencies' schedules.
