Lumberton swears in two new committee members; Gina Llaca named mayor and pledges meeting recordings

Lumberton Township formally reorganized on Jan. 3, 2025, swearing in newly elected committee members Grant Robinson and Amanda Smith and selecting Gina Llaca as mayor and Lori Fay as deputy mayor.
Assemblywoman Andrea Katz administered the oaths for the new committee members and the newly chosen mayor and deputy mayor. Grant Robinson, who the clerk identified as duly elected in the November 2024 election, thanked family members for attending the ceremony. Amanda Smith told residents she will "listen and be as transparent as possible" as she begins her three-year term.
Mayor Gina Llaca used her remarks to praise township staff and volunteers and to outline a transparency measure for residents: "Not only is tonight's meeting being live streamed on YouTube, but going forward all Township committee meetings will be recorded and posted on our website for the public to access any time at their convenience," she said.
The committee also held a brief special presentation to swear in the newest member of the Lumberton Police Department, Officer Duffield, who came forward with family for the oath.
The committee set its next regular meeting for Jan. 16, 2025, at 7 p.m. and adjourned following procedural closing remarks.
