South Lyon honors firefighter for more than 25 years of service

Mayor Steven B. Kennedy read a proclamation commending Tim for his more than 25 years of service with the South Lyon Fire Department, his certifications (engineer, aerial platform operator, certified fire instructor and CPR instructor) and his recognition as Firefighter of the Year in 2022. The council and attendees recognized his service and Tim addressed the assembly, thanking the city and describing his return to duty after an injury and surgical repair.
"I was able to come back... I was only out 363 days, two days short of a year," Tim said, describing his recovery and thanking firefighters and the community for support.
The council presented the proclamation as part of the meeting's ceremonial items and wished him well in retirement.
