Adams Central honors BPA, esports and FFA students and recognizes elementary reading achievements

The Adams Central board spent an extended portion of the meeting recognizing student accomplishments across multiple programs.
Business Professionals of America (BPA) students described their events and qualifications for nationals in Nashville; Jayden Patterson said he placed third at state in prepared speech and the parliamentary-procedure team won first at state.
Coach Kyle Murdock introduced varsity esports players, noting the Overwatch team placed in Division A at state and will play April 24 in Noblesville. Senior Sam Johnson said he will play for Huntington esports in college and referenced scholarship interest; Murdock noted the program is in its second year of varsity competition.
FFA leadership and members marked the chapter’s 75th year and recounted broad participation and competitive results: area and state placements across forestry, welding, small engines, entomology, soils, dairy and livestock judging. Students said the chapter hosted a petting zoo that served more than 800 preschool students and sold 950 pork suppers as a fundraiser.
Elementary staff recognized students Evie Ashman, Breial Henning and Brock Bussey for perfect IREAD scores and presented small tokens of appreciation to the students and families.
Board members and administrators thanked coaches, advisors and parents for supporting extracurricular programs and wished students luck at upcoming competitions and commencements.
