The Adams Central board recorded five resignations and approved several hiring recommendations and roster updates as part of the consent agenda.
Resignations included Michaela Rash (third grade), Kathy McCollum (special education assistant), Nick Smith (varsity golf coach), Austin Balmer (assistant baseball coach) and Gabby Landis (middle school cross country coach). The board thanked them for their service.
The board approved hiring recommendations that included Parker Bates as assistant JV baseball coach and Britney Saddlewaite for the winter guard stipend for the 2025–26 school year and reviewed the coaches roster and club sports volunteer positions.
Superintendent McClure told the board the district will require full background checks for club coaches who are likely to be alone with students and that the district will cover the cost. During discussion he cited an estimated price range for a full background check of roughly $25–$40.
McClure framed the change as a safety and protection measure for volunteers and students and said it would give volunteer coaches better formal protection once board approved. No roll-call tallies were made; the personnel changes were included on the consent agenda and carried by voice vote.
