Beauregard Parish School Board honors retiring teacher James Michael Isles and celebrates student achievements

Superintendent remarks introduced student representative McKinley, who summarized a month of academic and extracurricular highlights: multiple winners at district and state literary rallies, science and career exploration events, and extracurricular successes including FFA and JRTC competition placements. The superintendent and student rep named dozens of students recognized for academic awards and competition placements.
Director of federal programs P.J. Crow presented school-level spelling-bee champions and invited winners to the podium for photographs; several advanced students who competed at the regional level in Lake Charles were singled out. "You have represented us with dignity and academic brilliance," Crow said addressing the students.
Coach Stormmy Foronberry introduced the Mville Lady Panthers and said the championship was special because of the team’s community ties and classroom performance. "I can't put into words how much this means," Foronberry said, thanking administrators and the community for support.
Principal Ashley McBride and a representative for Mayor Michael D. Harris presented a proclamation honoring James Michael Isles for 56 years of service in the parish. The proclamation cited Isles' long career teaching Louisiana history, leadership with student council, coaching and statewide engagements. Isles addressed the audience at length, recounting career memories and community connections, and closed, "I love y'all." The board presented a small token of appreciation as part of the recognition.
What this means The recognitions reinforce the district’s emphasis on academics, extracurricular opportunity and long-term staff service. No formal board action was required for the recognitions beyond the presentations and the proclamation.
Next steps No follow-up votes were announced. The recognition of coaches and students was ceremonial; Mr. Isles’s retirement will proceed under district personnel processes.
