East Goshen board approves consolidated police contract, tree contract, event permits and routine resolutions

East Goshen’s board of supervisors used its March meeting to approve several routine but consequential items affecting labor administration, public works contracting and special events.
The board unanimously approved Resolution 20265, which consolidates prior collective bargaining documents into a single police contract intended to simplify future negotiations. Derek, who presented the resolution, described it as consolidating existing agreements rather than changing negotiated terms.
On procurement, supervisors voted to award the township’s as‑needed tree-removal contract to the lowest bidder, Harland Tree Services, citing the need for outside crews during high-volume storm periods. The vote carried 5–0.
The board also passed housekeeping and event measures: a resolution updating authorized pension signers to add Kelly Braffy (5–0), an Arbor Day proclamation to be read at the April 25 event (5–0), and authorization for beer and wine sales at the township Food Truck & Music Festival and county ArtWalk (5–0). The board approved a motion to accept the treasurer’s receipts and expenditures for the reporting period (5–0).
Finally, the board approved a $3,000 contribution to a Westchester Council of Governments (COG) 250th celebration fund to cover vendor deposits and bookings for the joint Aug. 2 event (vote 5–0).
