City officials told the Board of Public Works that the annual monthlong May cleanup will return this year, offering dumpsters at the street department for Sullivan residents to dispose of trash, debris and acceptable household items.
The board said Republic Services will partner with the city to provide dumpsters while city staff will supply labor to load them. The program will include two Saturday pickup days and extended Thursday hours (until about 7:00–7:30 p.m.) to accommodate residents who cannot attend during regular daytime hours.
A board member encouraged residents to begin preparing for the cleanup and noted this is the same format used in recent years.
Why it matters: The cleanup gives residents an opportunity to remove bulky waste without arranging private disposal, supporting neighborhood upkeep and public sanitation.
The board adjourned after the announcement.
