The Quakertown Community School District board voted on May 28 to award the district’s before-and-after school services contract to Right at School following an RFP process that evaluated multi-site operations, cost to families and program capacity.
Administration told the board that multi-site management across elementary sites was a district requirement in the RFP and that respondents varied on whether they would operate from a single site or multiple locations. While the district provides transportation between the sixth-grade center and neighborhood elementary schools for children who attend the shared before-and-aftercare site, families generally pay tuition for the vendor-run service; the district’s role is to manage site logistics and to collect any site rental or revenue-sharing fees that are part of the contracts.
Board members cited the evaluation committee's rubric and cost information when supporting the motion. One board member noted Right at School "ranked very highly in the administration evaluation" and described the provider as offering an affordable option for families.
Administration clarified that the evaluation summary prepared for the board is not publicly available because contract negotiations have not been finalized. They also said the recommended provider was the second-lowest cost after factoring in contract terms and true family cost under each proposal.
The motion to award the contract to Right at School was made and seconded and carried on a board vote. Administration said a multi-year contract beginning August 2026 is anticipated but exact contract terms, including length and final scope at each site, remain subject to negotiated contract language and further review.
Board members said the district intends to ensure continuity of service and clear family communications during the transition; administration also said it will confirm whether current families are guaranteed enrollment under a new vendor and will clarify summer-program arrangements separately from the before-and-aftercare contract discussion.
