The board was told the lot near CVS contains stormwater-management infrastructure tied to CVS and an old septic system; a presenter estimated the lot as "just over an acre" and said the site might be difficult to develop but could provide environmental benefits if retained as green space to reduce runoff.
"From my understanding is they're giving it to us," the presenter said when describing the developer's outreach, adding that any corporate tax implications would be on the donor's accounting side and the parcel would be removed from the property tax rolls if the township accepted it.
Board members asked staff to research maintenance agreements related to the retention pond, to confirm central water and septic status, and to determine whether the lot is a nonconforming parcel. Separately, staff said they received a voicemail from Collins Aerospace about subdividing and donating unused acreage; details were preliminary and will be brought back when available.
No formal acceptance or transfer was authorized at the workshop; staff will pursue follow-up research and return recommendations to the board.
