The Forest Lake Area Schools board unanimously approved the district's 2027'2029 Achievement & Integration Plan (AIP) on March 5, adopting multi-year goals and a budget to focus resources on historically underserved students.
Superintendent Dr. Massie summarized the plan and highlighted outcomes from the current cycle: "We're at some of our record level of graduation rates as a whole as a district exceeding 93%," he said, and noted strong gains for subgroups, including an almost 20% rise in four-year graduation rates for students who qualify for educational benefits since 2025.
The AIP sets goals to reduce disparities in achievement, increase access to high-quality teaching, and promote racial and economic integration. The plan dedicates roughly $850,000 to services and programming intended to expand participation in rigorous coursework, bolster academic supports and increase access to after-school transportation and enrichment.
Board members discussed implementation details and agreed to monitor indicators such as FastBridge and MCA results, ridership on activity buses, and participation in academic support programs. Member Tyson and others emphasized the need to match investments to measurable outcomes and said funds may be reallocated if specific strategies fail to produce expected participation.
The plan will be submitted and administered according to state requirements; administration will provide periodic updates to the board on progress and metrics.
