Brown County approves payroll and $321,501.77 in claims; discontinues solid-waste stipend and reports patriotic banner reservations

Also during open session, Commissioner Heinen moved to discontinue the monthly Solid Waste stipend for C & D pit extra duties to the Noxious Weed Director, stating the Transfer Station is now fully staffed; Commissioner Tesoriero seconded and the motion carried. Commissioner Tesoriero reported that 38 of 40 patriotic banner locations around the Courthouse Square have been reserved and that the City of Hiawatha expressed interest in extending the project to additional light poles. The commission adjourned at 1:57 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
