The Boone County BCA voted to approve permit 26 CE-7-074, allowing a nonconforming single-family dwelling at 150 West 250 South in Center Township to continue as a residence and to add a 24 by 32-foot accessory structure.
Staff said the house on the site was built around 1975 and the property was rezoned from agricultural to light industrial in 1980. Staff recommended approval with conditions, including that tax issues be addressed and that a driveway permit would be required during construction; the technical advisory committee had no objections from the health department or soil-and-water office.
The petitioners, identified in the record as Ryan and Andrea Hler, told the board they were working on building plans and confirmed the accessory structure would be anchored during the building-permit process. The petitioner also mentioned the installation of a portable radio tower, saying, "we're just adding a portable addition tower for radio." The board asked whether the owners lived at the property when it was rezoned; the petitioner said they did not.
No members of the public spoke during the public-comment period. A board member moved to approve permit 26 CE-7-074 and the motion was seconded; the chair announced the motion carried with no recorded opposition.
The approval is subject to the stated conditions and the normal building-permit process, including any required driveway permit during construction. The staff packet includes a site plan and the record notes the need to resolve tax-related items before finalization.
