Lopatcong council approves reorganization consent agenda and authorizes athletic-field lighting payments

At the Jan. 7 meeting, the Lopatcong Township Council approved its reorganization consent agenda and took several routine financial actions.
Council reviewed the reorganization consent agenda (items 1–38) and approved it after a motion and roll call. One item was removed from the packet: the 911 coordinator does not have a deputy, so the council removed the deputy 911 coordinator position from the reorganization list.
The council also discussed and approved payment of invoices for lighting used by the Lakhan Athletic Association football fields (items 1–4). Recorded affirmative votes on that motion included Councilman Belcaro, Councilman Scott Marinelli, Councilman Quay and Council President Leo.
The mayor announced a special meeting on Jan. 13, 2026; residents were reminded the second January meeting is held to pay bills. The meeting adjourned after brief public comment.
