"We're still trying to get the county's attorney to work with us to have a joint tiff for the area west of I65," the mayor said.
Commissioners also discussed a submission from Desert County Economic Development tied to a façade grant: the organization requested a 10% payment on a $100,000 grant (equal to $10,000). Commissioners questioned whether the city should remit the 10% up front or accept invoices as the grant is spent. One commissioner said invoicing as expenses occur "would make more sense to me," and staff agreed that submitting an invoice with each draw would be appropriate.
