Parks staff outlines county-provided visitor-tracking tool to support sponsorships and planning
Summary
Parks staff demonstrated county-provided analytics software called 'Place Your AI,' showing sample data (about 900 visits for a two-day tournament and a cited figure of roughly 187,000 visits to right fields year-to-date) and suggested the data could guide sponsorship outreach and service planning.

Parks staff told the Chippewa Township Council the county has provided access to a visitor-tracking platform called “Place Your AI” that the township can use to analyze event attendance and visitor flows.
The presenter said a quick pull of data from a recent two-day tournament showed roughly 900 visits and an average dwell time reported in the meeting as about 309 minutes; the presenter cautioned that the tool counts only devices with cell phones, so young children without phones will not be captured. The staff member also mentioned a rough total figure of about 187,000 visits to the right fields this year to date, noting that the number was presented as an approximate, not a verified final total.
Staff described how the software shows where visitors originated, which routes they used, and where they went afterwards — information the presenter said could be used to approach potential sponsors and to evaluate service needs. Councilmembers expressed interest and noted the county's tourism department manages the tool for the region.
The council did not take formal action on adoption of the software — the county has already procured the service and provided access to the township — but staff encouraged other departments to consider how the analytics could support planning and outreach.
