Town staff told the Chippewa Township Council that a five-year service agreement to provide school resource officer (SRO) services to the local school district is ready and will be presented to the district's board next Wednesday. Staff asked the council to consider adopting the agreement the same evening, with contingency language if minor changes are required.
“We presented this to the school back and forth a couple times… they plan on presenting this 100% to their board next Wednesday night. So kind of I would ask for you probably to adopt it also next Wednesday evening… we got a fiveyear deal with them,” the staff member said.
Council members were asked to review the agreement ahead of the next meeting and raise any issues; no formal action was taken during the session. The item remains on the schedule for next Wednesday, pending the school board's consideration.
