Councilors described the crossing as the only one within city limits without a signal arm, and said overgrown bushes at the corner near nearby storage units create a dangerous blind spot for drivers approaching the track. Several members asked staff (Lisa) to arrange for vegetation trimming and to explore whether the crossing could be equipped with signals or other safety hardware.
Council members who live in the neighborhood said they regularly slow to peer around the vegetation to see approaching trains, and they urged a prompt staff review and follow-up. The council directed the appropriate staff member to assess the situation and report back with options for trimming, enforcement or signal installation.
