Council confirms two appointments and votes to meet in closed session on personnel

At its June 1 meeting the Anne Arundel County Council approved two personnel and appointment items and authorized a closed session.
Resolution 1226 nominated and the council confirmed Orville Brown to serve on the Anne Arundel County Community Reinvestment and Repair Commission. Councilmember Pickard described Brown as a graduate of Oldmill High School with experience in engineering, quality assurance and healthcare manufacturing and said he works as a certified peer support specialist with the county Department of Health.
Resolution 1326 appointed Pamela J. Groves as assistant administrative officer to the county council, with an effective start date of June 4, 2026.
Following those confirmations, council moved to meet in closed session under Section 3-305(b)(1) of the General Provisions Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland to discuss personnel matters within the council's jurisdiction; the motion passed by recorded vote.
