Cecil Township’s Board of Supervisors voted June 1 to award the township building roof replacement contract to Vertex Roofing Contractors Inc. for $158,610. The motion to award the contract (Resolution 110‑2026) was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board also approved a series of routine and administrative items. Resolution 111‑2026 authorized bidding for the Cecil cemetery restoration project (masonry work, fencing and signage) to be funded by a Washington County Tourism Agency grant and a contribution from the Cecil Township Historical Society; the motion carried. Resolution 113‑2026 approved release of $38,214 in private‑improvement security for the Hope Learning Center playground after engineer confirmation the work was complete.
A block of resolutions (Resolutions 118–124) disposed of surplus municipal vehicles to winning bidders via the municipid public‑bid platform; each award was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board also approved minutes from the May 4 meeting (Res. 125‑2026) and the general fund invoices for May 1–31, 2026 (Res. 126‑2026).
Several of the votes were routine and required no roll‑call tallies in the transcript; each motion was recorded as “I” during the voice vote and the chair declared the motion carried.
The board signaled it will continue to shepherd implementation steps tied to these approvals (e.g., engineer sign‑off for the playground release and procurement steps for the roof replacement).
