Local organizer Dakota announces Nov. 13 job fair with 33 employers and 200+ openings

Dakota said the Iola Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Works, the City administration and Allen Community College helped recruit participants. The event will include a headshot station, a children’s corner and a professional clothing closet, and Iola High School and Moran High School were bringing seniors to the fair. The first 30 minutes will be reserved for veterans, their spouses and dependents.
"We've been able to recruit 33 employers to this job fair... giving us about 200 o just over 200 jobs which is incredible," Dakota said during public comment.
Dakota also said Camille would join organizers later and invited council members and residents to contact Dakota or Camille with questions.
Next steps: Organizers will proceed with the fair as scheduled; council members did not take formal action on the item during the meeting.
