Robbinsville council unanimously adopts salary, budget-cap and several code ordinances; approves auditor amendment

The Robbinsville Township Council unanimously adopted multiple ordinances and approved a package of resolutions at its regular meeting.
Council members introduced and adopted Ordinance 2026-03, which fixes salaries for certain township officers and employees for 2026. The measure was passed by roll call vote with support from Mr. Chopra, Ms. Yacob, Mr. English, Mr. Patney and Ms. Blakeley.
The council also opened public hearings and, with no public comment, adopted an ordinance to exceed municipal budget appropriation limits and establish a cap bank for calendar year 2026; amendments to Chapter 122 of the township code addressing fire prevention; and an amendment to Chapter 80 concerning the historic preservation commission (Article 3). The council also adopted an ordinance authorizing the sale of a portion of Block 1 Lot 65.02. All votes were unanimous as recorded in the roll calls.
During the resolutions portion of the agenda, the council approved resolutions A through L and handled resolution M as an amendment to the township auditor’s professional-services agreement. Council members said federal grant thresholds required an additional single audit; the amendment adds that task to the auditor's contract for an additional $3,500. Officials said the auditor is not being replaced; the amendment simply expands the existing contract to include the single-audit work required when federal grant totals cross the applicable threshold.
Council members also approved a resolution authorizing vendors to sell alcohol at the upcoming Myre Run community festival, with proceeds to support Meals on Wheels, and authorized submission of a grant application to support further Myre Run trail work.
The council moved and unanimously approved payment of the township bills and closed the meeting after noting that the Meadowbrook bridge near Wawa has reopened following permitting work.
Next steps noted by the council include processing the auditor contract amendment, filing adopted ordinances and resolutions with the clerk and state as applicable, and proceeding with engineering and grant steps for Myre Run trail phases.
