City to ratify Mangrove Park demolition extension as permits come through

Andrew Mack, deputy city manager, told commissioners the city is bringing a ratification to the commission for a second amendment on the Mangrove Park project near St. Mark's Church. Mack said the second amendment previously extended the schedule by six months while the city sought demolition permits.
"We recently got our permits to do the demolition of the boardwalk," Mack said, explaining the current amendment expires June 30 and staff recommends an extension to the end of the year so the city can solicit proposals, bid the demolition work and schedule the work to be done.
Mack described the extension as necessary to avoid lease expiration complications with the archdiocese. Staff indicated the item will be brought to the commission for ratification on the upcoming consent agenda.
No formal vote occurred at the agenda review; staff framed the request as a routine contract/administrative ratification to be approved at the commission meeting.
