During roll call the board recorded one abstention on the minutes approval; the board later approved the claims list and then the consent agenda. Finance staff highlighted that approximately $784,000 — about 52% of the claims total — was accounted for by four payments: $34,000 to Chicago Heights for water; $142,000 for the village’s first-quarter eCOM dispatch payment for police and fire; roughly $255,000 for one month of employee health insurance; and $83,000 to Thorn Creek Sanitary District.
The consent agenda included a not-to-exceed $70,000 pooled authorization for grass-cutting, vegetation trimming and debris removal for noncompliant private properties to be shared between Uttermark & Sons of Homewood and CT Landscaping of Lynwood; a pavement-marking award to America’s Parking Remarking (unit-price bid, not to exceed $94,892.70); a $23,500 change order to Burns & McDonnell for the village’s comprehensive water-rate study; and a budget amendment of $45,400 to the general fund to make the final payment to Motorola Solutions for police radios. The board also approved a 4‑year lease agreement with Striker, Inc. (annual cost reported as $29,140.43 for a total of $116,561.72) and resolutions consenting to Cook County Class 8 real-estate tax status for two properties located at 17627 Holster Street and 2034 Ridge Road.
Board members approved a budget amendment related to the Prairie Lake stormwater detention facility — staff said negotiations reduced the requested amount from $100,000 to $80,000 with Isaac Walton contributing $7,500, bringing the village’s outlay to $72,500.
Trustee Open moved to approve the consent agenda and Trustee Mason seconded. A roll-call vote recorded all trustees in favor.
The board did not remove items for separate discussion and staff said several contracts may be renewed under the same terms for up to two additional years.
