Special magistrate gives Steven Thomas seven days to abate alleged code violations at Glenn St. Mary property

Special Magistrate Geraldine Hart on May 27, 2026 granted property owner Steven Thomas up to seven calendar days to correct alleged code violations at 10903 Orbee Roaden Road in Glenn St. Mary after staff presented photographic evidence and multiple complaints.

Staff said the county received an initial complaint on Feb. 11, 2026 and a second formal complaint on April 13, 2026. The staff presentation listed alleged violations under Baker County code, including 24-156 (unauthorized motor vehicles or parts), part C of 24-156 (vehicles or trailers without current license plates), part D of 24-156 (discarded objects including appliances and vehicle parts), 24-157 (junk), 24-158 (major recreational equipment — staff said a large RV is being disassembled on the parcel), 34-1 (sanitary nuisance) and 34-2 (solid waste). Staff provided photographs from the February complaint and updated images from May 27, 2026 and said the photos show "there has been no progress on the parcel at all."

Staff told the magistrate that certified and non-certified letters had been sent and that sheriff's deputies left door knockers but the owner was not responding. Staff recommended "no longer than seven additional calendar days" for the owner to remedy the violations. Hart said, "I'm going to accept staff's recommendation and allow no more than seven calendar days for this property to come into compliance."
