Softball booster seeks approval to paint dugout; committee schedules formal vote next meeting

Committee members asked logistical and policy questions: who will fund the project (the boosters confirmed they will cover costs), whether the design uses the district’s official logo (staff noted the dugout art is not the official logo and said the facilities decision falls under the school committee’s oversight), and how the request aligns with a prior understanding that some field logos would not be replaced when they fall into disrepair.
The chair said the item was informational tonight and would be placed on the next meeting agenda for a formal vote. "If the committee is interested in having it on the agenda, we can continue the discussion and vote on it at the next meeting," the chair said.
No formal vote was taken on May 27. Booster representatives and players were thanked and the committee encouraged them to appear at the next meeting for a decision.
