The Paradise Town Council unanimously approved an employment agreement with Jennifer McCarthy on May 12, making her the town manager.
Human-resources staff summarized a months-long internal recruitment and interview process that led to McCarthy’s selection. "Short answer is yes, I do still want it," McCarthy told the council after being introduced and before the roll-call vote. She said she looks forward to working with council, staff and community stakeholders to guide recovery, infrastructure and economic steps in the years ahead.
Council members praised McCarthy’s qualifications during a short discussion. The motion passed on a recorded roll-call vote of 5-0.
What happens next: McCarthy will assume the town manager duties and work with council on near-term priorities including the sewer project, downtown economic strategy and ongoing recovery programs.
