The New London Common Council voted to pay $1,772,973.91 in outstanding bills during its regular meeting, a routine financial motion that passed unanimously. "I make a motion to pay the bills in the amount of $1,772,973.91," Mr. Dorsey said; Mr. Barrington seconded the motion and council members were asked to cast their ballots. The motion was recorded as carried by all.
The payment approval came amid a brief meeting that also included the adoption of the agenda, approval of the April 21, 2026 meeting minutes, and multiple standing-committee reports. No council member raised objections or requested additional detail on the bills during the session.
Council members also approved the police department's monthly recommended license list and a public art permit later in the meeting. The council adjourned after routine departmental updates and recognitions.
