Wright County adopts MnDOT cooperative agreement and advance-construction contract for Trunk Highway 25 project
Summary

Wright County commissioners voted May 5 to authorize agreements with the Minnesota Department of Transportation to move forward on a Trunk Highway 25 project.
Public works staff (Chad) told the board the project will be funded with a $750,000 safety grant, a $500,000 local partnership state grant and a rural high-risk roadway grant. Staff said those combined funds leave the county's share at zero for the construction agreement, and the cooperative construction agreement (Resolution 2637) was adopted unanimously.
Staff also presented an advance-construction contract (Resolution 2638) to allow the county to construct in 2026 even though the $750,000 safety funds will not be available until 2027. The county will front the cost with a planned short turnover (about three to four months) when the state reimburses the funds; commissioners approved the contract unanimously.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about timing and reimbursement; staff said the advance-construction action allows work to proceed without delaying the construction schedule. Both resolutions passed by unanimous vote.
