The manager explained the vacancy process under the Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code: the remaining supervisors may appoint a replacement within 30 days if they can agree; if they cannot agree it goes to the vacancy board; if that fails, the matter may be resolved by the Court of Common Pleas in Chester County.
The board then moved to appoint the vice chair, Jod Nraki, as permanent chair. A motion to approve Jod Nraki as permanent chair was made and seconded and carried by voice vote at the meeting.
The resignation creates a vacancy the board must fill consistent with state law; the manager said staff would follow the statutory process and notify residents about the vacancy.
