Delanco committee adopts one-way streets ordinance, sets public hearing for $698,000 bond ordinance; consent agenda passes

The Delanco Township Committee on Nov. 17 adopted Ordinance 2025-13, revising Chapter 295-38 governing one-way streets, after a second-reading public hearing and a unanimous roll-call vote.
The committee approved a consent agenda that included setting the first reading/public hearing date for Bond Ordinance 2025-14 (appropriating $698,000 for Ash Street remediation and various park improvements) with a public hearing scheduled for Dec. 15. The consent agenda also carried several routine resolutions: disposal of out-of-service police equipment, change orders for the historic waterfront park project, lien certifications under chapter 135 of the township code, acceptance of a Burlington County behavioral health grant, and personnel actions including a police lieutenant contract and administration of affordable housing units.
During professionals’ reports, Township Engineer Mr. Fox said the township is reviewing a developer request for bond reductions on a project with roughly $1.2 million in posted bonds, but that the township would hold funds for unfinished basin work and require a formal letter documenting completed and outstanding items before releasing funds. Mr. Fox also reported progress on the 2024 Patrick Road paving program and said a DOT grant was awarded to replace a storm drain on Hickory between Union and Walnut and repair ADA ramps on that block.
Town officials confirmed receipt of several grants: an Ash Street remediation grant (noted by the administrator as up to $282,000) and a Burlington County opioid-prevention grant of $5,000 that the township plans to pair with school programming. Police Chief Warren reported department activity and a successful food-drive pickup for Thanksgiving distribution.
The committee tabled Resolution 2025-160, which had been placed on the consent agenda in error, and rescheduled it for discussion on Dec. 1. The meeting concluded with public questions on paving and tree removal projects and approval of the 2026 meeting and budget calendar.
