Lower Pottsgrove Authority approves backup pump controller and records equipment purchase plans; bills and treasurer’s report cleared

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Authority on Aug. 14 approved several equipment purchases and cleared routine financial items.
Sewer Operator Tim Watson reported no overflows in July and explained the board’s purchase of a backup quad pump control at the Porter Road pump station for $8,460. "This will allow us to run off the backup controller without manually operating each pump," Watson said. Mr. Ebert supported the purchase, saying stations of this size need backup controllers. The board approved the purchase by a unanimous 4-0 vote.
Manager Edward Wagner told the board staff located a 2023 F-600 chassis for the sewer operator truck; the chassis price increased by $606 resulting in a purchase price of $69,325 from Hondru Ford of Manheim. Wagner said Levans Machine & Truck Equipment of Fleetwood will upfit the chassis at an estimated cost of $115,178; Watson said the vehicle will be titled as a 2024 after upfit.
Treasurer James Vlahos read the July treasurer’s report showing the Sewer Revenue Account at $4,121,931.35 and the Capital Improvement Reserve at $1,834,779.54; the board unanimously approved the treasurer’s report. Solicitor Stephen Kalis read capital and operating invoices (including Ebert Engineering, JM & MP Enterprises, Borough of Pottstown, Sewer Specialty Services, Telog/Trimble, Hondru Ford and Fox Rothschild LLP). Secretary Mark Loshnowsky moved and Treasurer Vlahos seconded payment; the board voted 4-0 to approve the bills.
Procedural note: the board earlier approved July 10 minutes by a 3-0 vote with Vice Chairman Sean Pence abstaining. The meeting adjourned at 6:27 p.m., with the next meeting set for Sept. 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Township Building.
