Chair Mark Eberle said he will follow up with Mr. Ayersman from Davey Tree to obtain a PDF 'canopy layer only' map, and Eberle and commission member Edgar David will draft an article for the Whitpain Wire summarizing the canopy restoration program's findings.
Members described the intent of the planned Wire piece as explaining why the canopy measurement in a prior study was lower and outlining how the canopy has overall improved in the township. The commission plans to target the March Wire edition for the article and to include graphics and survey outreach in related communications.
Student member Albert He is slated to prepare graphics for Wire pieces related to the canopy survey and the upcoming tree giveaway. The commission will use the Davey Tree map and the written summary to support public outreach and resident education about canopy trends and next steps.
