Councilmember Zach Smith asked that consent agenda item 7f (RFP No. 2025-012 for fleet maintenance and repair services, annual amount not to exceed $125,000) be pulled for separate consideration and raised concerns about pricing from Christian Brothers Automotive Weatherford.
Smith said the pricing disparity was "staggering" and suggested local vendors may not have had an opportunity to bid. Accounting Manager Hannah Seymour told the council current spending was well under $50,000 and that a $125,000 ceiling should cover the remainder of the fiscal year. Smith proposed awarding the contract only to Sergeant's R and B LLP and not to Christian Brothers Automotive Weatherford.
Smith moved to award the Sergeant's R and B LLP portion of the contract for the remainder of the budget year and to exclude Christian Brothers Automotive; Luke Williams seconded the motion. The council voted to approve that motion. The council did not record a roll-call tally in the hearing record provided; the mayor announced the motion passed.
