Florence Council approves wide slate of 2026 resolutions, denies water & sewer engineer appointment

Florence Township, N.J. — At its Jan. 7, 2026 reorganization meeting the Florence Township Council approved a large set of resolutions establishing 2026 administrative, financial and professional-service arrangements, and took separate votes on several named appointments.
On a single omnibus motion (moved by Councilmember John Fratinardo and seconded by Fred Gabriele), the council approved Resolution Nos. 2026-01 through 2026-07, 2026-09, 2026-11 through 2026-29, and 2026-31 through 2026-46. Those resolutions cover the annual meeting schedule, temporary budget appropriations, designation of depositories, cash-management arrangements, professional-services agreements (including solicitor and bond counsel), appointments for prosecutor and public defender, adoption of policies, and authorizations for contracts and intermunicipal agreements. The roll call for the omnibus motion was unanimous.
Council then approved Resolution No. 2026-08 (authorizing a professional services agreement with the township engineer) on a separate motion by unanimous vote.
The council next voted to deny Resolution No. 2026-10, which had sought to appoint Remington & Vernick Engineers as Township Water & Sewer Engineer. The motion to deny (moved by Fred Gabriele and seconded by John Fratinardo) passed unanimously.
Council later considered Resolution No. 2026-30 (appointing a risk management consultant for the Burlington County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund). That measure passed on roll call: YEAS — Fred Gabriele, Talaya Loftin, Gina Sullivan, Joseph Frappolli; NO — John Fratinardo. The motion carried 4–1.
Other procedural items approved included filing the Tax Collector’s monthly tax report for November 2025, approval of minutes for Nov. 12 and Dec. 3, 2025 (with a requested redaction to one speaker’s address), and an on-premise 50/50 permit for the Florence Township Riverfront PTO for March 19, 2025. All were approved by voice vote.
The council opened the meeting for public comment; no members of the public spoke. The meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
