Henderson board approves low bids, vehicle purchase and repairs in routine actions

The board approved purchasing a 2022 Ford F‑550 with a flat dump bed on state contract for the Public Works Department. Recorder Garland explained a previously ordered F‑350 was not accepted by Ford and the city identified a 2022 F‑550 at another location; Alderman Keith Smith moved to purchase the vehicle for $61,535.00, seconded by Alderman Jason Rhodes; motion carried.
Fire Chief Doug Acred asked the board to approve needed roof repairs after leaks in the conference room. Matlock Roofing quoted $6,000 to re‑seal the roof and wash/seal block walls; Alderman Keith Smith moved approval, Alderman Buel Maness seconded, and the motion carried.
Recorder Garland also presented two quotes for blinds to finish newly renovated areas: SMB $7,625.65 and Blue Goose Blinds & Shutters $5,287.00. Alderman Mark A. Barber moved to purchase from the low bidder, Alderman Jason Rhodes seconded, and the motion carried.
Fire Chief Acred also reminded the board that a Community Development Block Grant application for a new fire pumper would be submitted the next day. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Alderman Mark A. Barber, seconded by Alderman Keith Smith; motion carried.
