The Town Board of the Town of Malone held its organizational meeting on Jan. 14, 2026, at the Town Offices and unanimously approved a slate of appointments to lead town operations for 2026. Andrea Stewart was sworn in to fill a vacant council seat and serve as Deputy Supervisor, and the board confirmed legal, code and administrative appointments the same night.
Town Clerk Abby Monica administered the oath to Justice Fisher to begin the meeting; Justice Fisher in turn swore in Supervisor Terry Maguire, Councilors Brian Taylor and Jason Marlow, Highway Superintendent Mike Andrews and other appointees. "The office staff, justice court and highway department employees are amazing and always get the job done," Supervisor Maguire said, noting he has served eight years on the board and looks forward to the year ahead.
By recorded votes, the board: - Adopted Resolution 1-2026 to swear in Andrea Stewart to the vacant councilor position and recognize her as Deputy Supervisor (mover: Councilor Marlow; seconder: Councilor Taylor; Ayes 3: Maguire, Marlow, Taylor; Nays 0). - Adopted Resolution 2-2026 appointing Fischer, Bessette, Muldowney & McArdle as town attorney (mover: Councilor Taylor; seconder: Councilor Marlow; Ayes 4; Nays 0). - Adopted Resolution 3-2026 appointing Michael McMahon as Town Code Officer and administered oaths to clerk staff (Ayes 4; Nays 0). - Adopted Resolution 4-2026 appointing Bob Crossman as Town Constable and Bingo Inspector for a two-year term (mover: Deputy Stewart; seconder: Councilor Taylor; Ayes 4; Nays 0). - Adopted Resolution 5-2026 appointing Bruce Burditt as Airport Manager; Burditt and Deputy Highway Superintendent John Manley were sworn in (Ayes 4; Nays 0).
The votes were unanimous on all appointments presented during the organizational portion of the meeting. Several of the appointments were followed immediately by oaths of office administered during the meeting.
The board left routine personnel and administrative authority in place with these confirmations; no contested appointments were recorded. The body set follow-up administrative items during the remainder of the meeting, including organizational policies, the town's official newspaper and bank depositories.
