Colleagues recounted personal anecdotes and highlighted projects including the Colombia Sculpture Garden in Dante Fascell Park, public‑realm signage, and investments in parks and placemaking.
Members of the public — longtime friends, residents and officials — also came forward to offer appreciation. Several speakers described personal memories of the commissioner’s mentorship and community engagement. The city clerk and manager offered a certificate and other tokens of appreciation; the mayor and colleagues emphasized that Liebman’s projects reflected a long‑term vision for the city’s public spaces.
Liebman responded briefly, saying the work was collaborative and thanking staff, commissioners and residents.
The commission recessed briefly for photographs and then resumed regular business.
