Park Forest accepts additional $100,000 in CDBG funds for sewer piping project

On Feb. 16 the Park Forest Board of Trustees voted to accept an additional $100,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from Cook County for Project 2507022, previously approved by the Village in 2025.
Village Manager Jon Kindseth told the Board the extra funds will be used toward the sewer piping project connected to Project 2507022. Trustee Erin Slone asked whether the $100,000 the Village had pledged as a match would be used; Kindseth clarified that the Village’s pledged $100,000 will be put in reserve and saved for the next project rather than applied immediately to this amendment.
Trustee Tiffani Graham moved to accept the additional funds and Trustee Theresa Settles seconded; the roll-call vote was five ayes, zero nays, and two absent.
