Volo board approves FY 2026–27 budget, fee changes and 2026 sidewalk contract

The Village of Volo Board of Trustees on April 28, 2026, approved the FY 2026–27 budget and a package of routine ordinances, resolutions and contracts during a 15-minute meeting at Volo Village Hall.
Trustee Komas moved and Trustee Wagner seconded approval of the FY 2026–27 budget, which covers the period May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. The motion passed on roll call with Trustees Johnson, Komas and Wagner and Mayor Stephen Henley recorded as voting “aye.”
The board also adopted Ordinance No. O-26-04 to set water, garbage and recycling rates for FY 2026–27 and Ordinance No. O-26-05 to adjust miscellaneous permit fees; both measures passed on roll call votes recorded as “aye.” The board approved Resolution No. R-26-290 to authorize motor fuel tax (MFT) fund maintenance costs for FY 2026–27 and Ordinance No. O-26-06 adopting amendments to the intergovernmental agreement establishing the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO); both passed unanimously as recorded.
In public works business, the board awarded the 2026 Sidewalk Improvements contract to Everlast Blacktop after a motion from Trustee Johnson and second from Trustee Wagner; the award was approved on a roll call vote recorded as “aye.” The board also approved the mayor’s regular annual appointments and adopted the regular meeting schedule for FY 2026–27.
