Volo trustees approve multiple maintenance contracts and renew county animal-control agreement

The Village of Volo Board of Trustees on April 7 unanimously approved a set of maintenance and service contracts that cover parks and routine municipal operations and renewed the village’s animal-control agreement with Lake County.

Trustee Porter moved to accept bids and award a contract for bike path maintenance to Patriot Maintenance; Trustee Heuser seconded the motion, and roll call recorded Trustees Wagner, Porter, Johnson, Heuser and Buttita voting “aye,” carrying the motion. The board also awarded a contract to Superior Paving to repair the path around the frisbee golf course at Northwest Park in Remington Pointe North after Trustee Porter moved and Trustee Johnson seconded that award; the roll call was unanimous.

Trustee Porter moved to award a contract to Hector’s Painting to stain the two pedestrian bridges that provide access to the frisbee golf course at Northwest Park; Trustee Heuser seconded and the trustees voted unanimously in favor. The board voted to renew an agreement with Lake County Animal Care and Control for animal control services following a motion by Trustee Porter and a second from Trustee Wagner; the renewal passed on a unanimous roll call.

The board approved contracts for annual landscape maintenance activities and materials and authorized various routine maintenance contracts after motions by Trustee Porter, seconded in each instance, with all trustees present voting in favor.

These approvals were processed as separate motions and recorded by roll call; none of the items drew public comment at the meeting. The contracts address upkeep of village parks and infrastructure used by residents and are part of the village’s regular operating work for the coming year. Next steps include contract execution by staff and vendor mobilization under the terms of each agreement.
