Marta said the Spring Festival and Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at DACA and will largely follow last year’s format. The events and marketing team plans an egg-stuffing volunteer session on Wednesday, March 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the community center to prepare roughly 4,000 eggs with prizes and candy.
To reduce prize concentration and on-field chaos, staff will hand out one prize egg per person at the gate; the remainder of eggs and candy will be placed on the field for the egg hunt. "Instead of...we're gonna hand out the...like, eggs when people enter. And so everyone will get an egg — one egg," one organizer said, explaining the change aims to make prize distribution more equitable and relax the prize table.
Staff encouraged board members to volunteer at the stuffing session and said they will reach out to the Lions Club and other community partners. Leah (events) will order ears and other supplies and Tim (in the meeting) confirmed he and staff will coordinate playlist and event logistics.
Staff requested the board help publicize the call for volunteers and said they will report volunteer sign-up status at upcoming meetings.
