City manager previews upcoming Fife meetings: contract recommendation, impact fee discussion and closed session

He said the council will be asked to approve the city manager’s 2026 work plan, receive a jobs program quarterly report, and consider the second reading of a one‑year pilot to merge the arts commission into the parks advisory board.
Matheson said staff expects to present a recommendation to award a contract for I‑5/Port Tacoma Road, noting there was an outstanding bid protest from the runner‑up and staff hoped to have that issue resolved before the council acted. He also said the council will hold a closed session on collective bargaining that builds on discussions from the city retreat.
Upcoming study sessions include a March 10 discussion on parks and transportation impact fees and an April 21 overview of the parks, recreation and open space (PROS) planning process. Matheson said staff will reappoint members to city boards and commissions and bring a routine item accepting community center capital project work as complete.
