Staff displayed bid tabulations and said the apparent low bidder listed in the tabulation was Good News Group; the figure in the transcript materials appears as $704,707,104,640 and staff cautioned the board that they must review all bid documents and attachments to confirm qualification and arithmetic before any award recommendation.
Staff said three bids came in under the engineer’s estimate (the packet notes an engineer’s estimate referenced as about “863” in the staff materials). Marta said staff will begin detailed review of the schedules of values and bid attachments over the coming days and expect to complete that review next week before making recommendations to council as required for contracts above $350,000.
Staff also showed community center exterior photos (stair entries, repaired masonry and new concrete work) and said the HVAC project is substantially complete with two remaining items, including replacement of a nonfunctional exhaust fan; the HVAC closeout requiring council action is tentatively scheduled for March 24.
