Staff assigned volunteers for the park board booth and asked volunteers to arrive at 9:15 a.m. Marta described vendor and food-truck arrangements and said staff will provide orientation and a timeline for prize-egg distribution. The board also discussed the new photo booth purchased for events and clarified that photos and any provided email addresses will be retained by the city for marketing; the photo booth software incurs a per-event fee of $29.
On Trails Day, the subcommittee recommended starting and ending at the splash pad and selecting Brookville and Lehi (Levy) Pond as the two satellite locations to introduce participants to lesser-known parks. The group proposed stamp bracelets and small prizes/medals, staffed booths with water and snacks, and volunteer coverage for each location. The board agreed schedules around a 9 a.m.–noon public participation window and discussed logistics such as volunteer rotation, restroom availability, maps for participants and whether to position booths near parking areas to reduce long walks into trailheads. A tentative date of July 25 (last Saturday in July) and a 9 a.m.–noon window were discussed.
Parks Appreciation Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at Brookville (9 a.m.–noon). Staff will plant a tree for Arbor Day and seek volunteer recruitment and possible lunch donation to support volunteer crews.
