At a glance: Fife council adopts impact-fee increases, approves property exchanges and trail maintenance MOU

Resolution 2253 — SR-167/WSDOT trail MOU: Council approved a memorandum of understanding with WSDOT, Tacoma and Puyallup describing maintenance responsibilities for trail segments being constructed with the SR-167 completion. Staff estimated the city’s annual maintenance responsibility for portions outside state right-of-way at about $80,000–$85,000 and explained toll revenue will fund maintenance of trail segments within WSDOT right-of-way.

Resolution 2256 — sale of property to WSDOT: Council authorized sale of a small portion of the parks maintenance yard adjacent to Wapato Creek for wetland mitigation for the SR-167 project; the council accepted a negotiated price of $48,000, which staff said is about $0.90 per square foot given creek buffer constraints. The council voted to approve the resolution unanimously.
