At the March 19 meeting committee member Dave Christiana reported he had spoken with the Kiwanis Club and learned the town’s Apple Blossom fireworks used American Thunder. That smaller show lasted about 10 minutes and cost $6,800 in 2025, Dave said. According to Dave, American Thunder indicated a typical price of about $10,000 for a 15-minute show.
Chair Ken Tebbetts said the committee would like a minimum 30-minute fireworks display to mark Westford’s tricentennial and suggested asking the town to pay for the show given anticipated community interest. Committee members did not vote on funding or duration—the meeting lacked a quorum and no formal action was recorded.
Committee members acknowledged the need to discuss length and budget further in April as part of broader fundraising planning. No formal vendor contract or town appropriation was proposed at the March meeting.
