The Saratoga Springs Design Review Board approved an application June 12 to permit cafe seating for The Bunker at 307 Broadway, conditioned on building‑department approval and compliance with any State Liquor Authority (SLA) requirements.
Owner Troy Miller presented a plan for 5 feet of planter‑enclosed seating along the building, with movable black aluminum furniture. Board members praised use of planters but asked the applicant to submit photos of the proposed furniture and to ensure vegetative plantings are live rather than artificial. Several members emphasized that pedestrian access must remain adequate where lamp posts create potential pinch points; the board conditioned final approval on the building department’s confirmation that pedestrian clearance meets code and on any SLA conditions regarding enclosure.
The motion to approve included a requirement that any changes required by the building department or SLA be resubmitted for board review; staff asked the applicant to email final furniture pictures to be appended to the approval record.
Next steps: applicant to provide the furniture photo by email and to secure any necessary building and SLA approvals before permanent installation.
